The Point of No Return
The artist is one of those privileged artists who can boast of having captured his life through portraits of the lives of others. Winner of the National Photography Prize in 1999, in the thirty years of his artistic career Garcia-Alix has always refused to position himself in front of his photographs to concentrate in them the unintentional creation of an entire history. The upcoming retrospective of his work aims to be more than just an overview - it hopes to offer a journey revolving around his memory through 200 photographs from different periods and in different formats. In the exhibition Garcia-Alix will unveil The Point of No Return, an audiovisual work created specifically for the exhibit that constitutes an exploration of his personal world guided by the first-person testimony of the artist, blended with the impressions his photographs make on the observer.
