Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

In 2000 Associacao Brasil+500 produced the Rediscovery Exhibition, showing art and culture in Brazil from pre-colonial times to the present day. In May 2001 Associacao Brasil+500 became BrasilConnects: an independent, not-for-profit organisation that celebrates, preserves and supports Brazil's most treasured assets by connecting the country¹s past with its future, its culture with its ecology, and its people with the world. There are two further exhibitions from Brazil to be held in Oxford this autumn...

There are two further exhibitions from Brazil to be held in Oxford this autumn:

Opulence and Devotion: Brazilian Baroque Art
The Ashmolean, Oxford
16 October ­ 3 February 2002
This will be the first exhibition in Britain of Brazilian Baroque art. It includes a rich array of painted and gilded sculpture as well as small altarpieces, selected from private and public collections.
